
She could see the crescent from her window – gloomy yet clear, untouched by the intricacies of the world below. She averted her gaze for a second, mesmerized by its beauty, she looked again and it was covered by clouds – yet the radiance confirmed its existence.
A thought lingered in her mind – was he noticing the same sky? is he thinking about her too?
She longed to meet him, but couldn’t. He was miles away, just like the crescent, something that could be cherished from a distance, something whose presence could still be felt even when it couldn’t be seen.
And perhaps, that was enough.
The clouds could hide the crescent, but they could never make her doubt that it was there.
Though miles apart, they still shared the same sky.
