What if I had done things differently? What if I had made a different decision? These are the thoughts that bother everyone at one point or the other. When things go wrong, The second decision is always the correct one and the easier one, so we all want to go back in time in order to make different choices which according to us might result in a better outcome.
Between life and death there is a library and within that library, the shelves go on forever
The protagonist Nora seed who is suffering from self doubt and depression sees no reason to live and tries to take her life and ends up in the midnight library which exists between the life and death. The library is filled with different books which represents her decisions, their outcomes and the future she could’ve had , she gets an opportunity to choose the life she wants to explore and undo her mistakes. Each time the book is opened, she enters a different life where she meets different version of herself, some she enjoys and some she don’t but then she has no choice other than staying in that particular life till she fades and returns to the Midnight library. The universe is filled with millions of possibilities, millions of life and millions of choices. The decision Nora makes not only affects herself but also the people who are connected with her. she would explore new lives and meet people she haven’t met in her real world and the time would still be stuck at midnight 00:00.
This book feels like a dream world to me, the concept is really amazing and I was totally lost in the book while reading, i could imagine myself in place of Nora, reliving each and every decision she made. Each chapter has one or the other lesson on how beautiful and difficult life can be but just because life is difficult doesn’t mean you have to end it, just because you couldn’t find a way doesn’t mean there wont be any way out of the situation, multiverse is filled with millions of opportunities and all it takes is patience.
